DIY Leg Wax Recipe for Summer Legs

The quest for smooth and flawless legs is never ending, often costly and sometimes irritating to our skin. Waxing is one effective method for temporary hair removal, but the formulations are not always natural and can leave ingrown hair and redness behind.

Luckily, we can look to our kitchen for all natural assistance in the never ending fight against hair growth. Simple turbinado sugar, fresh lemon juice, water and little bit of cornstarch can create naturally smooth and summer ready skin. Here Skin Peel offers a simple DIY leg wax recipe to get you beach ready.

DIY Wax Recipe for Sexy Summer Legs

The Ingredients
  • 2 TBS fresh lemon juice
  • 2 TBS water
  • 1 Cup raw sugar
  • Organic cornstarch
  • Stainless steel bowl
  • Cooking pot
  • Strips of cloth (about 6″ wide and 12″ long) *hint, use an old t-shirt.

The Method
  1. Pour first three ingredients in the pan and heat to a slow boil. Reduce the heat and simmer until the consistency turns smooth and golden.
  2. Take mixture off the heat and transfer to a stainless steel bowl. Allow the mixture to cool and turn darker in color.
  3. Apply a thin layer of cornstarch powder to dry, clean and buffed legs as the mixture cools.
  4. When the wax is ready, smooth the wax on your leg in the direction of hair growth.
  5. Press the cloth strip down over the wax, then pull the strip off very quickly against the direction of hair growth.
  6. Once finished, rinse the remaining wax residue with a natural oil. (We like: Medpeel Natural Squalane Oil). This will help minimize redness and irritation. Follow with a refreshing shower.
