I have an absolute obsession with DIY Beauty Recipes. I love face masks and some of these DIY Face Masks are absolutely go to ones for me before ever going with a store brand version. It’s so much easier and cheaper to just use products that we have in our kitchens. I hope you enjoy these DIY Face Masks!
The Aspirin Mask (For dry and acne prone skin)
1-3 Aspirin
1 Tbsp. Natural Cocunut Oil
1 Tsp. Warm Honey

With this one you want to first crush the aspirin and mix in a few drops of water to form a paste and then mix the honey/coconut oil together. Apply to the face and allow to dry for about 10 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.

The Juice Mask (For oily skin)
1 Tsp. Lemon Juice
2 Egg Whites
3 Tsp. Honey
1 Cup Strawberries
Optional: 4 Drops of Essential Oil

Blend the ingredients together and apply to face. Allow to stay for 15-20 minutes and rinse with cold water.

2 Tbsp. Sugar
3 Tbsp. Warm Water

Stir the sugar into warm water until it melts, make sure the sugar melts so when applied it doesn’t tear your skin. Apply to the face in a circular motion rubbing away from the face. Rinse with warm water.
**The first three masks are definitely some of my favorites and I use them monthly depending on whats going on with my skin at the moment. The next few I have tried over the past week and I am really loving them and I will most definitely be adding them to my monthly routine.

The Milk Mask (All skin types)
1/4 Cup Powdered Milk
Enough warm water to make a paste

Apply to your face and leave on for 10 minutes and rinse with warm water. This definitely left my skin soft and glowing.

Slather this on your face and allow it to sit for 20 minutes before rinsing with luke warm water.

The Mustard Mask (All skin types) (Soothing & Stimulating)

The Wonders of Using Coconut Oil. 8 Reasons Why Coconut Oil Is Your Skin's Best Friend!

Coconut oil is a highly stable and known to have antimicrobial, antifungal, antibacterial and antioxidant properties. This is mainly due to the fact it contains extremely high levels of the medium chain fatty acid ‘Lauric Acid’ (also found in mother’s breast milk).Your skin naturally releases the protective oil sebum. Sebum protects our skin from drying out and helps resist infection but as we age or this function is compromised, our skin can become very dry and more susceptible to bacteria. Organic Coconut Oil tends to function in a similar way to sebum on the skin forming an antiseptic layer, helping to protect as well as moisturise. Being a very stable saturated fat, coconut oil is not broken down by free radicals, and thus helps protect the skin against free radical damage and assists in speeding up the process of healing.
Coconut oil melts at skin temperature and is easily absorbed by the skin making it a very effective protective and nutrient rich moisturizer. It will help keep your skin smooth, soft and supple, it’s suitable for all skin types and may assist in the treatment of many skin conditions such as psoriasis, dermatitis and eczema.
This moisturising and protective quality also applies to hair. Coconut oil will give your hair strength and helps to keep the scalp healthy and free from dandruff. People living in the tropics have long known the benefits of using coconut oil and not surprisingly have beautiful skin and hair.
8 reason’s why coconut oil skin’s best friend:

  1. Use it as a Body Moisturizer
  2. Exfoliate Your Face With It
  3. Coconut Oil is a Great Hair Conditioner
  4. Use Coconut Oil to Treat Acne and Heal Wounds
  5. Use it as a Makeup Remover
  6. Use it as a Foundation Primer
  7. Use it to Fight Dandruff
  8. Coconut Oil as a Body Scrub

Benefits of Natural Squalane Oil

Squalane is a high purity vegetable Squalane obtained from Olives. Well known as Nature's Facelift, Olive Squalane is a botanical lipid that mirrors human lipids in molecular structure and weight. Olive Squalane, formerly offered by Ingredients To Die For is the plant-derived alternative to the animal-derived (shark liver oil) of the past. This valuable lipid is extremely compatible with the skin and is safe for all skin types, making it a great choice for regenerative skin care, and anti-aging products.
Olive Squalane is an, absolutely essential oil for the skin, especially when a regenerative effect is desired.  The skin has sufficient levels when it's young, and healthy.  As we age the levels drop considerably and by the time we're in our mid-thirties, and forties, we no longer have sufficient levels to maintain healthy skin.  It is believed  that this drop off is, in part, responsible for many of the signs of aging skin, including the tendency to become easily damaged, thinner, and lack lustre.  The addition of Olive Squalane can help to replenish the natural levels lost through the normal aging process, contributing regenerative activity to restore a more youthful appearance, and resistance to inflammatory conditions (eczema).

Recipe for Vitamin C Face Mask

Buffered Vitamin C Mask Vitamin C has long been known for it’s anti-aging and antioxidant powers. My mother in-law introduced me to this buffered Vitamin C facial a few years ago and I added a twist to it with the liquid Vitamin E pills.

You can also add a liquid Coq10 pill to the mix. This is a fun and effective way to rejuvenate your skin.

People with sensitive skin should be cautious when using this mask because it is very stimulating.

If you feel any kind of burning sensation, rinse the mask off immediately. Some tingling may occur due to the oxidation of the Vitamin C powder.

What you’ll need
  • 1 TBSP of powdered Vitamin C
  • 2 Vitamin E liquid gel pills
  • A few drops of water
  • A small glass bowl
  • A spoon
  • Preparation

Mix the ingredients together in the small glass bowl to make a creamy paste. Immediately the mask starts to foam and form little bubbles.

Using your fingertips, apply the mask to damp face and gently rub in circular motions over your entire face and neck, avoiding the eye areas.

Let the mask sit on the skin for 5 to 10 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.

Pat your face dry with a clean towel and tone your skin with a non-alcohol, sulfate-free toner.

Enjoy!

Adult Acne & You

Grown-up women are not only fending off wrinkles, they may be battling zits too. But you don't have to feel as if you're 30 going on 13! A savvy skin-care regimen and a few simple lifestyle trick will clear and smooth your skin.
It is common among for women in their twenties, thirties, and forties (yep, that magical time when wrinkles start to appear) to experience breakouts. While acne may be nonexistent or dormant for years, certain factors like stress, hormones, and diet can eventually cause it to surface, with frustrating emotional side effects. One may because extremely uncomfortable and ashamed of their appearance. Because no woman should have to endure extra bumps on her face, here's a simple zit-erasing plan.
Typically acne breakouts are caused from hormonal fluctuations. Whether brought on by lifestyle, PMS, pregnancy the result is the same an increase in cortisol (also known as the stress hormone), which gets broken down into testosterone, a male hormone that pumps excess oil through your pores. When your hormones are out of whack, your skin's oil production may go into overdrive, causing an acne flare-up.
Keeping a healthy and stressful lifestyle is easily said than done. Visiting your dermatologist can be a very costly trip. We recommend at home basic daily skincare regimen with regular Glycolic peel treatments to keep the breakouts at bay. Make sure you opt for medical grade products that will give you best results. Glycolic peels are best choice for hormonal acne. Of course, daily sunscreen, cleansing, mild exfoliation and serum/moisturizer are all key steps in having breakout free skin.

Biggest Skincare Myths

"That just drinking plenty of water is all you need to hydrate your skin. While it certainly helps, skin requires love and care with professionally prescribed products."
When your skin is dehydrated, it may appear dull, lifeless, dry, flaky, and even saggy. Water is just as significant for skin's health as it is for the rest of the body's. With
proper care and hydration, you might resolve some of your skin's biggest
problems.
Cleansing or scrubbing your skin too much can actually do damage to it. Over-cleansing can strip your skin's natural oils and throw off its natural balance of moisture. Instead of
using harsh cleansers, stick to mild hydrating cleanser that don’t leave your skin feeling tight and dry immediately after cleansing. (Glycolic 2% cleanser) When you care for your skin, it's not just your face that needs the help in the hydration department. Use a good moisturizer all over the body. (Arganatural Shea Argan Body Lotion) Choose an
emollient face cream (oil-free if you have oily skin) to quench your facial skin's thirst.

Role of Vitamin C on the Skin

Vitamin C is a prime ingredient of collagen, the substance that binds cells together. Collagen metabolism and production are key attributes of healthy, radiant, younger looking skin. Collagen ingredients and ingredients that promote collagen production are widely used in cosmetics. Collagen, in fact, depends on vitamin C, which implies the vitamin's importance to healthy, attractive skin. Stable collagen production fights wrinkles, and ensures evenness in the skin's tone and texture.

Best peels for aging

Your skin seems to be aging in a very appropriate manner and others are constantly complimenting how good your skin looks. You wish to maintain and avoid the aging process as long as possible. Glycolic peel is an excellent choice to do just that. Very beneficial for maintaining and for overall skin rejuvenation. Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are naturally occurring carboxylic acids such as glycolic acid, a natural constituent of sugar cane. This is the mildest of the peel formulas and produces light peels for treatment of fine wrinkles, areas of dryness, uneven pigmentation and hormonal acnes. So it treats many other mild skin conditions. Glycolic peel effectively increase cellular turnover, stimulate collagen and elastin production and address sun damage. There is no down time caused by this peel, allowing you to carry on with your typical day. This peel will make dull appearing skin appear more vibrant and revitalized. Brilliant choice for beginner and those that wish to perform superficial peeling. One may experience very deep and stubborn lines with more mature skin where the TCA peel would be ideal. This deep peel that results in the skin visibly peeling for those that wish to have a more dramatic outcome

The truth about what really causes your wrinkles!

Exposure to UV (ultraviolet light) - people who spend considerable time out in the sun during their leisure hours or for work tend to age more quickly, especially if proper sun protection is not used

Smoking - smoking depletes estrogen levels in your body and estrogen is what keeps skin plump, youthful and radiant. Smoking also reduces blood supply to the skin, which experts say provides a direct link to accelerated aging of skin

Light skin - people with lighter skin types tend to experience a higher level of sun damage, leading to an earlier visible signs of aging.

Genetic factors - if your parents maintained a youthful appearance longer than the average, you can expect to follow suit as long as you live a similar life style.

Clothes - people who tend to wear hats and long sleeves usually develop wrinkles later in life compared to people of the same skin type who do not.

Lack of Sleep - Researches have detected that when you don't get enough sleep, the body produces excess cortisol, a hormone that breaks down skin cells. Those who get plenty of rest produce more HGH (human growth hormone), which helps skin remain resilient or more "elastic," and is less likely to prematurely wrinkle.

Now that you are aware of the causes of accelerated aging, you can work to control and prolong your youthfulness. All of the above points are all very important factors, but nothing beats good skin care routine. Chemical peels, daily exfoliators along with religious application of SPF 30+ (Sun Shield Moisturizer SPF 30+ Anti Aging Peptide) will give you the foundation for beautiful, healthy skin.
